4-4-13 AMERICAN POLITICS IN THE DEEP SOUTH First lets head over to Georgia where we have politicians providing new warnings about gay marriage. I know- strange right? I mean, we have heard Gay marriage will destroy amaerica, that gay marriage is bad for kids,- all of which is claimed by right wing politicians but of course are not true. Well- enter the brainiac Georgia GOP Chairwoman Sue Everhart. As if to make a bad April fools joke Everheart said
“You may be as straight as an arrow, and you may have a friend that is as straight as an arrow,”. “Say you had a great job with the government where you had this wonderful health plan. I mean, what would prohibit you from saying that you’re gay, and y’all get married and still live as separate, but you get all the benefits? I just see so much abuse in this it’s unreal. I believe a husband and a wife should be a man and a woman, the benefits should be for a man and a woman. There is no way that this is about equality. To me, it’s all about a free ride.”
Umm- rember the Adam Sandler movie ”I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry” was a pair of straight firefighters getting domestic partnership status? No? Neither do I- but it was a fricken movie.
This is just another backward ass republican tryin yet another scare tactic agains equal rights for same sex couples. Nice states and DC have approved legal same sex marriage since 2007 and the amount of fraud cases of this type being investigated are… drum roll please – zero.
I am amazed this woman is a so called “leader” or chairwoman for her party, its got to be embarrassing.
For more prime examples from the republican party lets talks about the race in South Carolina’s 1st congressional district. Remember back in 2009 when the governor of South Carolina Mark Sanford went missing- and he eventually said he had gone to hike in the Appalachian mountains but really he flew to Argentina to be with his mistress? His wife wasn’t pleased to hear about that nor were the people in his state.
Due to ethics violations he was fined $74,000 and an additional $36,000 to cover the cost of the investigation. Wow- hope she was worth it dude.
So since then he has been divorced and – he is running for office AGAIN! Here is a former governor who lied to his wife, lied to the people he was supposed to be working for in the state- left the country with properly delegating his control to some one else- and he is running for office again? Wow- whats not to love-
Except this- here is the good part. Who is running against is Elizabeth Colbert Busch, brother of Stephen Cobert of the Cobert Report. She is smart, she is well liked, highly ethical and is a proven woman who has beat many odds in her life. Not to mention, her brother is all in for support as are many others with deep packets.
Check me if I’m wrong- but this is like taking a knife to a gun fight. I will seriously have to question the voters IQ’s in South Carolina if this guy Sanford even comes close to winning.

4-4-13 NORTH KOREA IS CHINA'S PET DOG FROM HELL
North Korea has been escallating their temper tantrum over what a shitty country they are lately by blaming the US for a “hostile policy” toward them. Which is ironic seeing as how North Korea is the one that bombed innocent people recently in South Korea and continues escalation of nuclear tests and threats.
See how this has worked in the past how this has worked is North Korea would cause trouble, China would tell them to stop and we would try to go to the bargaining table with them. I totally appreciate the current administrations policy of not even dealing with them. You know what its like? Its North Korea is China’s pet dog from hell. You know the one- the dog that your uncle or friends friend brings over and he craps on the rug, pee’s on your foot after he humps you leg- then ends up eating chunks out of your sofa before it owner calms it down. You know? Yeah- that one- North Korea id China’s pet dog from hell and they better real it in.
And if you want to really know the crappy world citizens the North Korean government is- check this out. According to a report from the Congressional Research Service North Korea has received 1.3 billion dollars in US aid between 1995 and 2008. And they were set to receive more – however on April 13, 2012 North Korea breached UN resolutions and launched a rocket. This is from a country that has faced wide spread famine and estimates are 5 to 10 % of its population starve every year.
So, I don’t see this really escalating more- the US will not do a premptive strike, the only way this could get worse is if North Korea does. And lets all hope that does not happen,

3-25-13 Gay Marriage Heads to the Supreme Court
From some place over the Supreme Court in Washington DC USA-The first case is about Proposition 8 which passed in California by a 52% yes vote and stated marriage must be between a man and a woman. Initially gay marriage was made legal in California on June 17, 2008 but Proposition 8 altered the states constitution to make it illegal. Its a well known fact that Proposition 8 was pushed through by money from the Mormon church. In fact, the Mormon church has a long record of fighting rights for any LGBT cause. With proposition 8, the Mormon Church secretly funded a campaign contributing over 71% of the funds while only 2% of the population in California were Mormon. The second case is a challenge to the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which states for Federal Benefits as a married couple, marriage is defined as a union with one woman and one man. Meet 83 year old Edith Windsor, who is at the heart of the storm against DOMA. Edith lost her long time partner Thea Spyer in a marriage that was recognized by the state of New York but she had to pay $363,000 in estate taxes when Speyer passed away because the federal government did not accept their marriage as valid. She is an outspoken voice for many who feel they deserve the same benefits as homosexuals being married as heterosexuals receive. Windsor said ”It’s just a terrible injustice, and I don’t expect that from my country. I think it’s a mistake that has to get corrected.”
In 2003 there was a historic case called Lawerence vs Texas. In the briefing Justice Kennedy stated ”Our laws and traditions afford constitutional protection to personal decisions relating to marriage, procreation, contraception, family relationships, child rearing, and education,” he wrote.Kennedy added: “Persons in a homosexual relationship may seek autonomy for these purposes, just as heterosexual persons do.” Soon after Massachusetts became the first state in the nation to legalize gay marriage, and since then eight more have along with the District of Columbia. In the mean time 30 states have adopted bills stating must be between a man and a woman.In the latest polls 58 percent of Americans support gay marriage where as in 1977, only 13% did. Where is the shift? Is it education? Is it awareness? Is it because we have a broader minded society? Still, those against gay marriage site religious beliefs that a marriage should be between a a man and a woman as primary moral concerns related to the issue. They also say having children brought up in an gay marriage environment is detrimental to children and could perpetuate an immoral lifestyle. While not allot can be said in regard to hard core religious beliefs one way or the other, such as with the Mormon Church, there was just a study released and after over 25 years of research the American Academy of Pediatrics has found no link between parents’ sexual orientation and their children’s emotional well-being.
